As most of my friends and traveling companions know, I have a fairly consistent habit of interrupting an otherwise productive museum visit or hike with a sketchbook stop. Most of my gouache paintings are very detailed and take countless hours to create, so these quick on-site sketches are comparatively fast, rewarding and fun. My Instagram feed is brimming with these little sketches, and I was thrilled to discover that Odette Carrasquedo had written a blog post about my sketchbook adventures on the art & design website Design Faves. Thanks for sharing my work Odette, and thanks Design Faves! Looking forward to dragging my sketchbook along for some California adventures soon.
